Hammond Optimist Youth Sports (HOYS) is located in Hammond, IN at 1245 North River Drive.  We are located at the intersection of Columbia Avenue and North River Drive.  HOYS is a local organization providing T-Ball, Softball and Baseball to local youth in the community.  HOYS continues to teach our children baseball and softball, being part of a team, life skills and serving our community.  

All In-Person sign-ups will be done on-line. There will be no more paper sign-ups.  In person signups will take place at our Press Box or Hyde Park Church, 6348 Harrison, Hammond, IN.  During the in-person sign-ups, we will be able to assists with any questions you may have.  And, you can see sample uniform sizes.  In-Person sign-up payments can be made with cash, check, credit/debit card or Hammond Sports Voucher.  On-line signups payments can only be made with credit/debit card.

Mandatory Raffle Fundraising Fee ($25 PER PLAYER) HAS BEEN INCLUDED in the above registration fee. Raffle portion of the participation fee due at sign-ups when using payment plans.  Yous can sell the $5 fundraising tickets and refund your raffle fee.

ATTENTION -- The 2026 Spring/Summer Softball and Baseball On-Line Signups are now available.  Tap on the link below to start the on-line signups.  First, you will need to login in.  If you do not have an account, you will need to create a parental account, a login and password.  Once you are logged in, you will start on the Welcome Page.   Read the Welcome Page, then follow the instructions on the subsequent pages and enter the needed and required data.  If you are signing up multiple children, then at the end of the last page for the current child there is a button to tap on to sign-up the next child.  When all children have been entered, then you can proceed to check-out.

Print the Fundraiser Flier and present it to the cashier at time of purchase and Five Below will donate 10% of your purchase to Hammond Optimist Youth Sports.

From the league,  each player will receive a hat, jersey, pants (w/draw string or belt) and socks.  Each player will share in team gear comprised of bats, catcher’s gear, practice balls, batting helmet and T-Ball teams get a practice hitting Tee.  Each player should get their own fielder's glove, a protective cup (males-mandatory) and plastic/rubber spikes (Babe Ruth will use metal spikes).  Additional items that each player can get are their own bat(s), their own helmet (face mask recommended), batting gloves, fielder's mask, bat bag and their own catcher’s gear if they are a catcher.
