Hammond Optimist Youth Sports (HOYS) is located in Hammond, IN at 1245 North River Drive.  We are located at the intersection of Columbia Avenue and North River Drive.  HOYS is a local organization providing T-Ball, Softball and Baseball to local youth in the community.

In-house End Of Season Playoffs

It is almost time for our inhouse playoffs.  The playoffs will start on Monday, June 24th.  Below are each division's Bracket.

2024 Hammond Baseball Classic Cal Ripken Tournament - Regular Season Teams

The three Cal Ripken Leagues in Hammond have put together a new tournament for regular season baseball teams.  This new tournament is call the Hammond Baseball Classic.  If will run from June 19th to June 23rd.  Each League will host one Division.  Hammond Optimist Youth Sports will host the Minor Division.  Lakeshore will host the Bambino/Rookie Division.  And, Hermits will host the Major Division.

2024 Fall Ball Signups

Fall Ball Signups start June 19th.  Fall be starts August 24th and will end approximately the 3rd week of October.   There will be no games Labor Day weekend.  For additional signup dates, prices and more info see our signup flyer below.  At this time, there will be no on-line signups. 

What each player will need for their season.

From the league,  each player will receive a hat, jersey, pants (w/draw string or belt) and socks.  Each player will share in team gear comprised of bats, catcher’s gear, practice balls, batting helmet and T-Ball teams get a practice hitting Tee.  Each player should get their own fielder's glove, a protective cup (males-mandatory) and plastic/rubber spikes (Babe Ruth will use metal spikes).  Additional items that each player can get are their own bat(s), their own helmet (face mask recommended), batting gloves, fielder's mask, bat bag and their own catcher’s gear if they are a catcher.
