Hammond Optimist Youth Sports

Hammond Optimist Youth Sports (HOYS) is located in Hammond, IN at 1245 North River Drive.  We are located at the intersection of Columbia Avenue and North River Drive.  HOYS is a local organization providing T-Ball, Softball and Baseball to local youth in the community.  HOYS continues to teach our children baseball and softball, being part of a team, life skills and serving our community.

Saturday, July 19th 11AM to Noon,  Thursday, July 24th 7PM-8PM

2025 Fall Ball Signup Prices

Baseball:
BAMBINO LEAGUE – AGE ELIGIBLE 6/7 YEAR OLDS - $80
Pitching machine will be used and teaching of basic fundamentals of the game
MINOR LEAGUE – AGE ELIGIBLE 8-9 YEAR OLDS - $80
MAJOR LEAGUE 50/70 DIVISION – AGE ELIGIBLE 10-11 YEAR OLDS - $80
BABE RUTH 60/90 DIVISION – AGE ELIGIBLE 12-17 YEAR OLDS - $120
      (For all leagues, Age is based on age as of April 30th 2025)
Softball:
8U – BAMBINO LEAGUE - $100             
10U – MINORS LEAGUE - $100             
12U – MAJORS LEAGUE - $100
14U – JUNIORS LEAGUE - $100
18U – SENIORS LEAGUE - $100 
(For all leagues, Age is based on age as of 12/31/25)

 


2025 Fall Ball On-Line Signups

ATTENTION -- The 2025 Fall Ball Softball and Baseball On-Line Signups are now available.  Tap on the link below to start the on-line signups.  First, you will need to login in.  If you do not have a login and password, then you will need to create them.  Once you are logged in, you will start on the Welcome Page.   Read the Welcome Page, then follow the instructions on the subsequent pages and enter the needed and required data.  If you are signing up multiple children, then at the end of the last page for the current child, there is a button to tap on to sign-up the next child.

What each player will need for their season.

From the league,  each player will receive a hat, jersey, pants (w/draw string or belt) and socks.  Each player will share in team gear comprised of bats, catcher’s gear, practice balls, batting helmet and T-Ball teams get a practice hitting Tee.  Each player should get their own fielder's glove, a protective cup (males-mandatory) and plastic/rubber spikes (Babe Ruth will use metal spikes).  Additional items that each player can get are their own bat(s), their own helmet (face mask recommended), batting gloves, fielder's mask, bat bag and their own catcher’s gear if they are a catcher.
